Description

RSI Solutions is seeking an experienced project manager/estimator with project engineering abilities to join our team with a local growing glass company. This highly qualified individual will manage, schedule, and sequence projects to assure cost control and job profitability. Candidate must represent the company in a professional manner in all communications with project representatives, general contractors, suppliers and the general public.

 

Core Job Functions: Project Management (85%) Project Engineering (10%) and Estimating (5%)


ESTIMATING and PROJECT ENGINEERING:

    • Participate in the review of bid invitations
    • Obtain all project documentation (e.g., specs, plans, drawings, etc.)
    • Identify all material requirements per specifications
    • Create and submit scope documents to GC’s per spec section prior to bidding project
    • Assist with various task related to proposal development including RFI’s
    • Manage all submittals per the specifications such as product data and samples from vendors and sending them to general contractors for architect/owner review
    • Follow up with architect review updates and changes as needed
    • Organizing and filing all documents required for project billing and invoicing
    • Complete and submit RFI’s

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

    • Control project costs consisting of materials, equipment and labor hours
    • Project planning and scheduling using company's PM software (e.g., Sure Trak 3.0)
    • Initiate purchase orders for jobsite materials and following up with suppliers
    • Help to coordinate field staff for projects being managed
    • Regularly visit job sites and attend on-site progress meetings as scheduled
    • Provide weekly updates on current projects being managed
    • Proactively resolve any project issues that may occur

Minimum Requirements and Desired Skills:

  • Solid background project management/engineering/estimating in the Glass/Glazing industry
  • Prior work experience for glass company and or manufacturing/supplier (desired)
  • Customer service skills, detail oriented, commitment to quality
  • Organizational and planning capabilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook Applications
  • Experience with using project management software (preferably Sure Trak 3.0)
  • Experience with Architectural Systems such as Storefront, Curtain Wall, and Insulated Glass

 

        Abilities Required:

  • Lift 50lbs, climb ladders and 2-sections of scaffolding (rare but may be necessary at times)
