Job Summary:

This Warehouse Employee is responsible for following the standards, objectives, and goals of the Operations Department. This position acknowledges, communicates with and provides service to all employees and subcontractors as efficiently as possible. This position responds with a sense of urgency and provides whatever support is necessary to ensure an effective warehouse and operations department.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Operates powered industrial forklift to transport inventory, unload incoming stock and load orders.
  • Pulls and stages orders for shipment.
  • Cuts carpeting, pad and vinyl
  • Fill and transact work orders, purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Order supplies and maintain supply levels
  • Office area maintenance duties as necessary
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
  • Follows company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean outdoor campus area including shredder area, parking lots and lawn areas
  • Distribute all packages and samples delivered to warehouse in a timely manner
  • Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Keeps all warehouse areas clean and organized.
  • Unload items to be stocked in warehouses and or storage yards.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Interface with Customer Service, Technical Service and Delivery personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required

Knowledge and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to communicate professionally with external and internal customers
  • High degree of accuracy and exactness is extremely important in the performance of this job
  • Understanding of written and verbal communication
  • Pro-active approach to potential problems
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Forklift Certified

Required Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, use stairs and move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis
  • Sit and Stand for a extended periods of time
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and mouse and handle paper documents
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
